Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter at WPDE-TV. She then worked as an anchor and morning reporter on WCBD TV. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston concerning how Charleston police handled DUI cases with care, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell was awarded her Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. In the years following her stay at Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. After that, she was hired by Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. Alongside her job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell also contributes to NBC News' Today and also for Dateline NBC. She's reported on events such including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
